I am a big fan of buying preloved clothes from online consignment shops because of their huge selection and great prices. In fact, I get most of my family’s clothing from secondhand stores, and mostly online.
I’m sharing my four favorite sites for quality preloved clothes, all of which I have purchased from on many occasions:
Not only do I buy our clothing through Swap.com, but I also sell our stuff there, too! They have a HUGE inventory (currently 178,000 girls items alone), great quality and competitive prices.
They have an incredible search that helps you narrow down to exactly what you are looking for. I narrow by size, type, brand, and even color sometimes. For example, a size medium black tunic top from my favorite stores.
You can read my tips and review of Swap.com here.
I think I purchased most of my daughter’s summer clothes from Schoola this year. The offer great prices and 40% of the sales price goes back to schools.
I shop sales at Schoola and sometimes get items for only $1-$2 each. I figured if I can use half (and donate the others to charity) then I am still coming out WAY ahead of store prices.
New members get a $10 credit when you sign up here (this is my referral link) – you’ll just have to pay shipping which starts at $4.99.
thredUP is a great source for high-end kids and women’s clothing. They offer clothing, shoes and handbags from every designer brand around plus favorites like Gap, Banana Republic, Gymboree and Carter’s.
I love thredUP’s excellent customer service and how nice my preloved clothes are when they arrive. Their packaging is super cute and I feel like I am getting something from a fancy boutique!
They offer 50% off for new members when you sign up here (this is my referral link). Once you are a member, you can invite your friends and earn referral credits, too.
Poshmark is my new favorite site for finding quality preloved clothes and shoes. It is a marketplace (think eBay but just for clothing, etc.) so you are buying directly from individuals.
I have had mostly great experiences on Poshmark. What is particularly nice and sets it apart from eBay is the Poshmark Guarantee.
Poshmark guarantees that you item will be as described or you can return it for a full refund of the items price plus shipping. I have only had to do this once when I got a pair of shoes with damaged insoles and while it took about a week, I was able to return the item to the seller and get a full refund.
I also love the advanced search feature that you can use to narrow down your results. It is powerful and helps you to find exactly what you are looking for. You can narrow results by price, size, type, brand, and even color.
Sign up for Poshmark here and get $10 off your first order (this is my referral code). I have also sold items on Poshmark and had a great experience!
I hope these sources for preloved clothes help you save money and find quality clothing online. Any questions? Leave a comment below!
