Here’s a review of my recent order from Schoola, one of the websites from which I have ordered second-hand clothing for myself and my daughter. I personally like to know what to expect before I order from a new company, so maybe my experience will be useful to someone else!
First, Schoola is unique among online preloved clothes stores in that 40% of the sale price of anything you buy goes back to schools as a fundraiser. Schools hold clothing drives, send everything into Schoola, and then when the clothes sell the school gets a check for 40% of the sale.
I placed an order from Schoola on December 30th with some of the money I was gifted this Christmas. As is often the case, there was an offer for free shipping. I also had a promo code for 50% off everything, which is now expired. Note: If you are new to Schoola, you can get a free $10 credit when you sign up here (this is my referral link).
I was looking for some new everyday tops since I had to trash several of mine due to tears, wholes and generally being worn out. I decided to narrow my search down to brands I know will last and generally fit me well: Gap, Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor, LOFT, and Old Navy. I decided on two long-sleeve tops from Old Navy, a tank top from Ann Taylor LOFT, and three-quarter sleeve top from Ann Taylor.
On January 5th I got an email that my stuff had been shipped. So yeah, it took 7 days to get my stuff shipped.
There was a holiday and weekend thrown in there, but suffice it to say that if you are looking for Amazon-like lighting fast order processing, you won’t find it here. My order arrived on January 9th, 11 days after I placed my order.
Here’s my stuff when it arrived:
I was completely happy with the quality of the clothes; in fact they barely had any wear at all. I would definitely describe them as “like-new”. They also fit great, with the exception of the last top which was a little short on me.
I have a freakishly long torso so I was pretty surprised that 3 out of 4 tops were long enough. 🙂 I’m sure I’ll end up wearing the green top anyway, it just wasn’t quite as long as I’d hoped for.
Now here is the best part about my order: In total I paid $12 for all four tops after my 50% off promo code and free shipping. I think I got huge value for my money, considering I could hardly get one of these tops on sale for that price!
So that is my honest review of my most recent order from Schoola. If you don’t mind waiting a while for your stuff to arrive, you can find some high-quality clothing for super cheap… plus support schools’ fundraising efforts at the same time. I”ll definitely be ordering from Schoola again.
