Where to buy discount Disney gift cards and how to spot the best Disney gift card deals.

Using discount Disney gift cards for Disney World vacations is a great way to save money.
You can use Disney gift cards to pay for:
- Food and drinks at Disney World and Disneyland
- A Disney vacation package
- Disney resort hotel stays
- Disney theme park tickets
- Disney Cruises
- Merchandise and more…

It is possible to save hundreds of dollars by paying for all of this with cheap Disney gift cards.
Many places sell discount Disney gift cards and they each have pros and cons. It can be hard to know where to start.
In this post, I’ll share the top three places to get a Disney gift card discount and my pick for the easiest to use.
Where To Buy Discount Disney Gift Cards

You can get Disney gift card deals both online and in a store, such as at BJ’s Wholesale, Sam’s Club, and Target (but you must pay with a Target Red Card for the discount).
Other places may also offer discounts, but anything less than 4-5% is NOT a good deal.
Here’s how to get cheap Disney gift cards at my top three picks.
Target Disney Gift Cards

While Target doesn’t sell discount Disney gift cards per se, you can use a Target Circle Card to save 5% on Disney gift cards.
A Circle Card saves you 5% off of all your purchases, even Target Disney gift cards.
I especially like that there is a Circle Card Debit card so I don’t have to open a credit card to save on Disney gift cards!
Just add Disney gift cards to your cart on Target.com (or in a Target store) and use your Circle Card as your payment method at checkout.
Target Disney Gift Card Discount Pros & Cons
- Pros: can get them in-store or online, 5% savings
- Cons: must pay with a Circle Card
BJs Disney Gift Cards
BJ’s Wholesale is my first choice for Disney gift card deals because you don’t have to have a specific credit card or expensive membership to get discount Disney gift cards.
You now have to be a member to get a Disney gift card discount at BJ’s but fear not!
You can try out BJ’s with a free one-day pass and buy all of the gift cards you need for your trip.
You’ll get 24 hours to buy discounted Disney gift cards (and whatever else you want!) without purchasing a membership.
Right now the best deal is the $100 BJs Disney gift card that costs $96.99. This is a 3% savings and the other gift card options at BJ’s offer less than 3% off.
I like that you can pay for these discount Disney gift cards with any form of payment and that you can get instant access to these prices without a membership.
If you purchase these gift cards with a credit card that earns rewards or cash-back, you can save even more.
I buy them with my 2% cash back card so I save 5% total.
You can combine the amount from multiple gift cards on the Disney Gift Card site here, making them much easier to manage when you are in the parks.
BJs Disney Gift Card Discount Pros & Cons
- Pros: no membership required, can pay with any method
- Cons: only save 3%, have to buy them within 24 hours on the free pass
Sam’s Club

Normally you can save 2-4% on Disney gift cards when you buy this $50 Disney gift card.
This savings is ok when it’s 4%, but I would pass when it’s only 2% – you can do better.
These are only available to regular Sam’s Club members and membership will cost you $50.
Sometimes Groupon will offer discounts on Sam’s Club memberships (this is how I got my membership to – you guessed it – buy discount Disney gift cards!)
Recently I was able to save 10% on Disney gift cards at Sam’s thanks to a 5% cash back offer from DOSH. Click here to learn more about the cash back app DOSH.
Sam’s Club Disney Gift Card Discount Pros & Cons
- Pros: options to save more with DOSH, can pay with any method
- Cons: can only save 2-4%, must have a membership
Does Costco Sell Disney Gift Cards?
Costco is a great place to buy discounted gift cards so you might be wondering about Costco Disney gift cards.
Unfortunately, Costco does NOT sell Disney gift cards in any of its US stores.
However, Costco does sometimes sell Landry’s Restaurants gift cards at a discount (e.g. a $100 gift card for $79.99).
These can be used for meals at several restaurants in Walt Disney World including T-Rex Cafe, Rainforest Cafe, and Yak & Yeti in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Even though you will not find discounted Costco Disney gift cards, you can still save money at Disney with a restaurant gift card!
Using Disney Gift Cards for Disney World

You might be wondering can you use Disney gift cards at Disney World?
I’m happy to report that there are so many ways to use Disney gift cards for Disney World vacations!
When you are at Disney World you can use Disney gift cards to pay for food, drinks, merchandise, and almost anything else you can think of.
You can use Disney gift cards to buy your tickets before your Disney World trip, but I only suggest doing that if you are buying one- or two-day park tickets. Read why in this post on how to get cheap Disney tickets.
If you rent Disney timeshare points to save thousands on a Disney Deluxe hotel, you can use discounted Disney gift cards to add a Disney Dining Plan to your reservation.

And if you book your Disney World trip with a travel agent, you can pay for your ENTIRE package with Disney gift cards!
If you want help with booking a Disney World package (at no additional cost to you), I recommend getting a free quote from my travel agent partner Siera with Destinations in Florida.
If you want to earn HUNDREDS of dollars in travel statement credit toward your Disney World vacation, check out this post about Capital One Rewards!
Using Disney gift cards for Disney World that you bought at a discount is a no-brainer way to save money on your vacation.
Can I Combine Gift Cards?
Keeping track of a bunch of gift cards can be difficult, but thankfully there is a solution. Disney allows you to combine multiple cards into one card here!
I think this is one of the best features of Disney gift cards. You can move balances between cards and only have to keep track of one card on your trip.
The most you can move onto one Disney gift card is $1,000 so if you have more than that you’ll need multiple cards.
Note that if you have more than five to combine, you will have to transfer the balance to the primary card, then delete cards from your collection of “My Cards” as you go.
Summary
In summary, BJ’s offers the most reliable and hassle-free way to get Disney gift card deals.
Though you can definitely get a Disney gift card discount at other locations, you will need a special card or pricey membership to get access to the best prices.
I like that you only need a trial membership to buy gift cards from BJ’s and that you can use any payment method (even one that earns additional cashback).

I couldn’t figure out how to purchase from BJ’s without buying an online membership.
But what I really wanted to know is if you can use PayPal on their site. I’m Canadian and have an American Dollar Paypal account, so need to be able to pay this way. Any ideas?
Hi Steph! You are right, it looks like BJ’s now requires that you at least have an online BJs membership for $10/year to shop on their site at all. I will update the post ASAP to reflect the change. So if you are willing to pay that (you would recoup it if you are buying any more than 2 gift cards) you would be able to get this discount. I checked and you CAN pay via PayPal so if you decide to get the $10 membership you can take advantage of the discount and pay via PayPal.
Actually using the Target RedCard is a super simple way to get 5% off. Not complicated at all. And you can still use Target Gift Cards on Disney Gift Cards at many Targets. It helps to have other items that you are buying at the same time.
It may not be the highest percentage off, but it’s a sure thing for me, and I can get them the same-day.
You are right, Jessi! Using a RED card is an easy way to save 5% if you already have one. If you don’t have one and don’t want to go through the process of opening a new credit or debit card, then saving almost as much at BJ’s is the better option. I’ll update the post to reflect this. Thanks!
Ok. So I read your article and went and purchased 20, $50 gift cards. I didn’t mind the smaller dollar ones because I thought, as you indicated above, that I could combine them on the Disney website. Wish you had mentioned that Disney’s site (de your link above) ONLY allows you to track 5 CARDS at a time.
Hi Kelly… I looked into this for you. One card should be set as your primary card in the Disney Gift Card website. This will be the card that will carry all of your balance.
After you add each new card to “My Cards”, transfer the balance to the primary card. After the balance has transferred and shows up on the primary card, click the DELETE button to remove the empty card from your cards. Then you will be able to add unlimited cards to your primary card without any trouble.
I will update the post with these instructions and please let me know if they don’t work for you. Thank you for reading!
I bought (22) $50 3-packs in June 2017 from BJ’s. In other words, $3,300 worth. It paid for our trip in September. Plus, I used my Discover card which offered a promo of an extra 5% cashback for purchases from a wholesale club. Discover runs that promo every now and then. I had no problem and apparently my order was not flagged even though it was large.
That is fantastic, Susan! What an easy way to save 10% off your trip!
I just looked on the website and couldn’t find the Disney GC. Did they take them down?
The gift cards are still there but the link was out of date. Here is the new link: https://fxo.co/4smh Unfortunately they are $95.99 now, not quite as good a deal but still better than nothing!
I actually just purchased 30 $100 cards from BJs – came within a week with no problems. It did seem to take a bit longer than expected to process the order, so maybe it was flagged somewhere along the way, but it processed and had a shipping notification within two days. I would still order a few at a time if possible but we had an upcoming trip over Thanksgiving and just found out about this deal, so we had to do a bulk order that I was VERY nervous about, haha. Worked out great, though!
So glad it worked out for you, Jodi!
Last month, I purchased 47 of the 100 gift cards from BJ’s (all at once). The only problem I had was reading the numbers to my travel agent so she could call Disney and read them all over again to apply to my cruise. They came quickly and securely (Fedex or UPS I cannot remember which). It took something like 5 business days.
I did this all online. I did call to ensure they got my order. The person I talked to was extremely nice and happy with my order.
That’s fantastic to hear, Jack. I am going to update the post to reflect your experience! Have a great time on your cruise!
Why do you only buy a few at a time? and how long does it take to ship to you? Thanks!
Hi Rachael! I’ve read that if you try to order more than 2-3 gift cards at a time your order might be declined or flagged. I guess they want to discourage folks from buying in bulk and reselling? It doesn’t take too long for delivery – maybe 4 or 5 days? Hope that helps!
