In this honest Credit Sesame review I’ll explain how to sign up for this free credit monitoring service, why it is safe, and how Credit Sesame can help you achieve your financial goals.
One of my goals for this year is to pay down some lingering credit card debt. Since the average US household has over $15,000 in credit card debt, I’m likely not alone in wanting to pay off some debt.
Read on to learn how Credit Sesame can help you track and pay down that debt!
Credit Sesame Review: How Can It Help Me?
Credit Sesame is like an assistant who keeps track of your credit score and debt for you.
In regards to monitoring your credit score, you can:
- See your current credit score
- Monitor changes to your credit score
- Get notifications when something changes in your credit report
- See all of your credit card balances in one place
- Get a financial debt analysis
- Track your debt balance over time
I’m using Credit Sesame to track my progress towards meeting my goal of paying off all of my credit card debt by 2020. I can see my total credit card debt in one place (it is currently $5,172) and see a graph of how the balance is changing over time.
Is Credit Sesame Safe?
I can honestly say that Credit Sesame is totally safe to use and is definitely legit.
One thing I really like about Credit Sesame is that you never have to provide a credit card number or your full social security number to use any of the features.
Credit Sesame also uses bank-level security practices, encryption, and firewalls to keep your information safe. I don’t feel like I am taking any risk when using this service.
Does Credit Sesame Hurt Your Credit Score?
This answer is easy. No, Credit Sesame does not affect your credit score in any way.
When you sign up with Credit Sesame you provide the last four digits of your social security number. Credit Sesame uses this to do what’s called a “soft pull” of your credit report. This in no way affects your credit score.
Is Credit Sesame Really Free?
There’s no trial period and no catch to using Credit Sesame. You never provide a credit card number to use this service, so there’s no way they can charge you anything.
The company makes money if you sign up for a new credit card or loan through their site. But all of the services they provide are 100% free to you.
Is Credit Sesame Good To Use?
If you want a free way to monitor your credit and track your credit card debt, then definitely!
Since I can see the balance on all of my credit card accounts on one page, I can make a plan for which to pay off first.
You’ll get email notifications when something changes on your credit report, such as a new account being opened or paying off the balance on a card. This gives me peace of mind that nothing is happening to my credit that I don’t know about.
And if you want to be able to see your full credit report from all three bureaus each month, you can upgrade to a premium plan starting at $9.95 per month. Since I have locked my credit I personally don’t need this service.
Is Credit Sesame A Legit Site?
I think at this point in my Credit Sesame review you probably already know my answer. Yes, Credit Sesame is a completely legit site.
They run a business providing a valuable service (credit and debt monitoring) while making money whenever anyone signs up for a new credit card or loan through their site.
They take the utmost precautions with your information because their business is on the line if they mess up!
