I’m excited to share a fun way to save up to 80% on accommodations and activities in Florida with you today!
I’ve been a member of Florida Vacation Auction for years and I’ve partnered with them to offer my readers an exclusive $25 credit – read on for my review and to learn more…
What Is Florida Vacation Auction?
Florida is one of my favorite vacation destinations (this might be obvious since I run a blog dedicated to Disney World) and I love to find creative ways to visit more often.
Florida Vacation Auction is a website that can help you save up to 80% on hotel stays and activities for your next Florida vacation. The site offers auctions every week for discounted stays at resorts and hotels all over Florida, as well as discounted tickets to attractions.
How Florida Vacations Auctions Works
Every week, Florida Vacation Auction offers heavily discounted 2-night stays at Florida resort hotels and discounted attraction tickets. There are always options in the Orlando area which would be perfect for a Disney World getaway!
First, you’ll need to register for a free account and be sure to enter the promo code THEFRUGALSOUTH at the very bottom of the form – you’ll get a $25 credit to use on your first auction.
You can register for your free account here.
If you’ve registered in the past, select CREDITS from the My Account menu. Here you can enter the promo code THEFRUGALSOUTH to get your $25 credit.
The promo code credit is good until December 16th, 2018 and there is NO minimum spending requirement. This means you may even be able to get attraction tickets for free!
Then you can check out all of the current auctions as well as the upcoming auctions.
When you are looking into an auction that interests you, be sure to read the Details and Restrictions sections carefully. This is where you find any rules about how you can use the travel voucher you will receive if you win the auction.
Common restrictions include only being able to use the voucher Sunday through Thursday and holiday dates being excluded. You don’t want to be stuck with a voucher that won’t work with your travel plans so please pay close attention to these sections!
If you find an auction you are interested in, you just click the Bid Now button and enter your starting bid and maximum bid.
Similar to eBay, once you bid you are committing to the price you enter if you win the auction. In my experience, there is little competition for the auctions for the most part. So don’t be discouraged from trying just because you are only offering the minimum bid!
For every auction you bid on a $10 test authorization will be placed on your credit card which will never be charged unless you win the auction.
Why I Love Florida Vacation Auction
Here is why I personally love the Florida Vacation Auction site:
- It is a great way to add on a two-night stay to an existing vacation and extend your trip!
- No hidden charges or fees – what you see is what you pay (even including tax). If there are any resort, cleaning, or parking fees they will be clearly stated in the auction.
- The travel voucher you receive when you win an auction is good for a minimum of 90 days (but most are good for longer). You then book your travel directly with the hotel or attraction whenever you want to redeem your voucher.
- Membership is free and simple. Sign up here and receive a $25 credit just for my readers when you enter the promo code THEFRUGALSOUTH!
Florida Vacation Auction would be perfect for an affordable South Florida vacation similar to what I describe in this post.
