A simple red wine vinegar dressing that is the perfect addition to any salad.
I strongly prefer homemade salad dressing to store bought so whenever I have the time and ingredients handy I make my own.
This homemade red wine vinegar salad dressing is a great first salad dressing recipe to try because the ingredients are readily available, cheap, AND you just dump everything into a bottle and shake!
I love this clear plastic squeeze bottle for my homemade dressing. You can get a similar one from Target for only $4.99 with a nice secure top for mixing thing up.
Plus you have a lot of control over the amount of dressing that comes out. In fact, these squeeze bottles are what many chefs use to add finishing sauces and dressings.
I did some quick math and it costs me around $0.75 to make one bottle of this dressing. Definitely cheaper than store-bought and oh-so-much tastier.
Now I like my vinaigrette pretty zingy, so if you prefer a smoother taste, just reduce the amount of vinegar and increase the amount of oil.
I have some of the ingredients in a range for the same reason – you may prefer more of a mustard taste to come through where others might like it to fade into the background.
So experiment with this red wine vinegar salad dressing recipe until you get it just right and enjoy your leafy greens. 🙂
