My favorite quick and satisfying snacks are pizza rolls in the air fryer! Read on to learn the perfect way to get crispy rolls in just 5 minutes.
The air fryer may be the perfect appliance to cook pizza rolls (such as Totino’s brand).
They turn out soggy and squishy in the microwave. They take quite a while in the oven and you still don’t get perfectly crispy rolls.
Enter the air fryer – it’s forced air heating keeps the rolls from getting soggy AND cooks them in less than half the time of a traditional oven!
Here are all of the details…
How Do You Cook Pizza Rolls In The Air Fryer?
The steps to cook pizza rolls are simple:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F.
- Place the frozen pizza rolls in your air fryer in a single layer. It’s okay if they touch but make sure they aren’t stacked on top of each other.
- Set the timer for 5 minutes.
- A few minutes in shake the basket to flip them around a bit.
- Check the rolls after 5 minutes. If they are golden brown and just starting to leak a little sauce out, they are done. If they need a little more time, put them back in for a minute or two – don’t overcook them!
- Let them cool for at least 3 minutes and even then use caution as the filling will be VERY hot.
Keep in mind that all air fryers are different. I use this small 1.6 quart Bella model from Macy’s and while it doesn’t hold much it cooks stuff super fast!
You may need to adjust the temperature slightly higher if you have a larger air fryer model and are cooking half a bag of rolls at a time, for example.
Are Pizza Rolls Good In An Air Fryer?
Yes, pizza rolls are crispy and delicious when you cook them in an air fryer!
They are the perfect snack for feeding hungry kids and teenagers. And it will take you half the time to cook them in an air fryer compared to a regular oven.
How Long Do You Cook Pizza Rolls in an Air Fryer?
I always start with cooking the pizza rolls for 5 minutes (at 350 degrees F). When they are golden brown and the sauce has started to leak out just a little bit, then they are done. If after 5 minutes you do not see these signs, then they need a little more time. Put them back in for a minute or two, but don’t overcook them!
Be sure to let the pizza rolls cool for at least 3 minutes out of the air fryer. The inside contents will be extremely hot!
Air Fryer Pizza Rolls Tips
It is important that the rolls are in a single layer in the air fryer. If you need to cook more, do them in two batches as opposed to stacking them on top of each other.
You want your pizza rolls to be golden brown. If they need more time, just put them back in and add a few more minutes.
If the rolls start to ooze out pizza sauce, they are done!
I suggest 350 degrees so the rolls don’t cook too fast and have plenty of time to get crispy.
