Can I really call this a recipe if it only has two ingredients? And I don’t give any exact amounts? Well, even if it isn’t really a recipe, check out this two-ingredient smoothie that leaves no excuses for not getting your fruit for the day!
I use a Cuisinart immersion blender for my smoothie making, which makes clean-up super easy. I don’t think I would make these as often if I had to clean some other equipment afterwards (seems like too much work!) I have an immersion blender that came with a plastic cup (like this one on Amazon) and the cup works perfectly for smoothie-making.
First, I fill the cup half full with frozen fruit that I have thawed in the microwave for about 20 seconds. I have been buying a frozen mix of blueberries, strawberries and bananas from the Dollar Tree lately that works great in smoothies. Any frozen fruit will do, really. I find that zapping it makes it a lot easier to blend.
Then I fill the cup up to the top with low-fat vanilla yogurt. I buy it in quart containers since we use so much. I also add a splash of water to make the consistency a bit thinner, since my little one drinks hers through a straw.
Then I blend thoroughly and serve it up! This is the favorite drink in my house. Give it a try and I bet you won’t try any fancy smoothie recipes again!
