I earned a free $10 Amazon gift card through Swagbucks this month so I decided to spend it on something I’ve been wanting to try for a while – Amazon’s Beauty Box. In this post I’ll share what I got inside and how you can get one for free after credits!
The Beauty Box is one of Amazon’s new sample boxes, which are only available to Amazon Prime Members. It costs $11.99, however you get an $11.99 credit to spend on select items when you purchase the box.
So here’s what I got in my box:
I got 16 samples of varying sizes, everything from a razor to moisturizer to toothpaste. These would be the perfect size for travel, so getting the sample box before a trip would be a great idea.
Notably missing from the “beauty” box were cosmetics, which are commonly included in other sample boxes such as Birchbox (you can read my review of Birchbox here). I personally am fine with that, but the lack of cosmetics might disappoint others.
I kinda question whether toothpaste, floss, and a razor belong in a beauty box, but I guess having clean teeth and smooth legs is beautiful, right? I have tried out many of the items, such as the L’Oreal products, Acure scrub, Pantene shampoo, and Dove body wash. I actually LOVE them all. I doubt I will buy full-sized products of all of them, but it has been really fun to try out some new products.
I really like that you can see ahead of time what will be included in the box, as well as what items are eligible for the credit after your purchase.
As for the $11.99 credit, you’ll have to wait seven days after your beauty box has shipped to get it. You will get an email from Amazon when your credit is available.
Right now there are 154 items eligible for the credit, so it isn’t just the items in the box. I am in the market for a new facial moisturizer, since the Olay lotion I’ve used since my 20’s just isn’t cutting it as my skin “matures” (a polite way of saying I’m getting old!) I found many different moisturizers in the eligible items and selected one from L’Oreal since I liked the samples so much.
When you add one of the eligible items to your cart and go to check out, the credit will automatically be applied to your purchase. Pretty easy.
So to summarize, I would suggest trying out the Amazon Beauty Box if
- You enjoy trying out new personal care products OR
- If you are going on a trip and need travel-sized items anyway OR
- If you are going to buy one of the eligible items regardless
