I have been busy planning lots of travel for next year! I’m so excited to already have several trips in the books. I thought I would share what I have planned so far to inspire and encourage. 🙂
In January my husband, daughter and myself are flying to Las Vegas for week-long visit. We are staying with some incredible friends who live outside of Vegas near Red Rocks. They are the sweetest people to welcome our family into their home for a week! We plan on hiking, climbing, enjoying the sunshine, and visiting some kid-friendly area attractions. We might venture into California for a day, too. I got an amazing deal on flights with my Southwest miles, with round trip tickets for all three of us only setting me back 32,000 miles (thanks, Companion Pass)!
In early March the little one and I are flying to the Miami area to meet up with my dad for a spring break trip. This is always the worst time of year for me so I decided to be proactive and plan a trip to a SUNNY and WARM destination!!! I’ve never been to south Florida so we are going to take a day trip to the Everglades, which is on my bucket list. It will be great to spend time with Grandpa at the pool and beach. I also got a great deal on Southwest flights and I’m booking the hotel with Hilton points.
And last, I FINALLY was able to book a reservation at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL) that I’ve been trying for years to get! We rented DVC points from an owner I’ve worked with many times and scored five nights in an elusive Value Studio Villa at AKL in September 2017. These rooms are usually totally booked even 11 months in advance because they are such a good deal! But this time we snagged one, so my family is spending FIVE nights at AKL for less than $600 total! If we booked this stay through Disney it would cost over $2,000. I think we made out like bandits. 😉
Well, that’s all that is booked so far for 2017… more trips to visit family in Ohio and Massachusetts will likely be planned soon. What’s on the travel horizon for you next year? Please share in a comment below!
