I love how my little air fryer can both save time and keep food from turning soggy in the microwave!

One of my favorite things to make in the air fryer are frozen breakfast sausages. While you technically can cook them in the microwave or oven, they actually turn out best in the air fryer.

Can You Air Fry Frozen Sausage?

Yes, you can definitely cook frozen sausage in your air fryer!

The air fryer is amazing because you can take food straight from frozen to done in a short amount of time.

You can put frozen sausages right into the air fryer just as you would other frozen foods (french fries, chicken nuggests, etc.)

I prefer to cook sausage links in my air fryer because I can fit more in and they turn out better. But you can absolutely cook frozen sausage patties as well.

How Long Do You Cook Sausages In The Air Fryer?

air fryer timer

It takes about 7 minutes for me to heat up precooked frozen breakfast sausage links in my air fryer.

I have this small Bella model from Macy’s that I got on a Black Friday deal. It is compact and easy to pull out from under my counter.

How long to cook frozen sausages in the air fryer also depends on how many you are cooking and the size of your air fryer. You may need to adjust the time for cooking a large amount or if you have a large air fryer.

How Do You Cook Frozen Sausages in an Airfryer?

sausages inside the air fryer in a single layer

Here’s how to cook air fryer sausage with step by step instructions:

Arrange the frozen sausage in your air fryer in a single layer.

I try to make sure they aren’t touching each other so they don’t stick. You don’t need to spray them with oil or add anything at all to the air fryer.

Set the air fryer to 350 degree F (180 degrees C) for 7 minutes.

Shake the basket halfway through cooking time or (even better) flip each sausage over to make sure it is browning evenly.

Remove the sausages and enjoy when the air fryer timer goes off. If you want to test their internal temperature, they should be 160 degrees F.

What if My Breakfast Sausages Aren’t Precooked?

If you have frozen breakfast sausages that are raw and uncooked, the process for cooking them in the air fryer is the same.

You will need to cook them for additional time, however!

I recommend starting at 12 minutes and adding more time if needed. I highly recommend testing the sausages with a thermometer to make sure they have reached 160 degrees internally.
