How I Earned $50 Cash From the Joany Health Care Survey!

on August 30, 2017

If you click a link in this post and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission, at no additional cost to you. Read our full disclosure here.

Yesterday I earned $50 cash by completing this 10-15 minute Joany survey about my experiences with health care. This is a legitimate opportunity for some easy money so I had to pass it on to my readers! Read on to see if you qualify for the survey.

Joany is a company that aims to be a “health care concierge” by helping folks find the best insurance plan for their needs.  It is completely free to sign up and use their services.

You can now earn up to $25 cash via PayPal after completing the Joany survey if you purchased your own health insurance for 2018 (these are my referral links, so I’ll be compensated if you sign up).

While I earned $50 for my participation (actually $48.25 after the 3.5% PayPal fee), the compensation has now dropped to $25, but it’s still a good return on your investment of time!

Here’s what’s required to be eligible for the survey:

  • You bought insurance through your state exchange, Healthcare.gov, through a broker, or directly through a health plan like Oscar or Kaiser.
  • You don’t receive your health insurance through an employer.
  • You are not currently enrolled in a short-term plan.
  • You currently have this health insurance active.
  • You are not on Medicaid, Medicare or VA health insurance.
  • You don’t receive your health insurance through your school/university.

A few hours after I completed the survey, I received an email asking for verification that I am currently enrolled in a plan.

I took a screenshot while logged into my Cigna account that showed I was currently enrolled in my plan, and emailed it back to Joany. I received my $50 via PayPal a few hours later!

If you buy your own insurance, I encourage you to spend a little time taking this survey to earn some extra cash. You can always unsubscribe to emails at a later date if you feel like Joany isn’t a good fit for you.

Would you recommend other sites which don’t ask for I’d?

The craigslist ad I answered (and the link I followed) promised a $50 payment. However, now that I have fully completed the survey, they are paying me only $25. They have not yet responded to my inquiry about the discrepancy. If they do not correct this quickly, I intend to report it as a fraudulent offer.

I’m sorry you didn’t get what you expected for doing the survey. I agree with you that they shouldn’t have ads running anymore that say $50 when they’ve changed the compensation to $25. I know sites like this usually include some language to the effect of “compensation amount may be changed at any time” but they still should update their ads to reflect the change.

Is a screenshot from my health insurance required? and why?

Hi Daniel… I had to confirm that I was currently enrolled in my plan by sending them a screenshot. Joany gives you personalized help with your plan and they get a kickback from the insurance company for offering this help (they are a “healthcare concierge”). In order for them to give you help and get paid by the insurance company, they have to confirm that you are enrolled and this is one way they can do that.

        Got you
But you mean a screenshot of what?
My card? and what kinda of details should be included in the screenshot?

        Thank You

If I remember right, mine just included my name, policy number, and insurance company.

Hi JoJo! First I’d suggest checking your inbox and spam folder to see if Joany sent you an email asking for more information. This happened to me. After I sent them a screenshot of my insurance info I was paid within 48 hours. If you haven’t heard from them in over 48 hours, you can call them at 323-284-770 or chat on their website: https://joany.com/faqs in bottom right-hand corner.

I received $48.25 which is probably $50 minus the paypal fee that they took out of my pay. Not a huge deal, at least it worked. Several weeks went then I had to email them and ask. After that they sent the payment within 48 hours.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Kristen. Yes, PayPal will deduct 3.5%. I will update the post to reflect that. Do you have the email address you used to contact Joany? I’d love to share it with others. Thanks!

Hi Laura, I’m sorry to hear that. First I’d suggest checking your email and spam folder to see if you got an email from Joany or Impact Health asking for more information. I had to email them a screenshot of my insurance info. After that, if it has been 48 hours and you haven’t heard anything, let me know. I can contact them on your behalf and follow up, I just need to know the email you used to register. Send me a message here: https://www.thefrugalsouth.com/contact-us/

I received a $50 amazon gift card key code in my email. I did it in august. I found it on craigslist and thought it might have been a scam but it turned out to be legitimate. I’ve already made purchases with the card as well.

I was very afraid this was a scam. I’ve already filled out the survey and now I’m anxious it might not be legit. I’ve read articles about people receiving money, but then they appear to have fake facebook accounts. So I don’t know what to trust.

Hi Kristen! Don’t worry, this is definitely not a scam. I use Joany’s services myself and can personally attest that they are legit. Please let me know if you don’t hear anything back from them within 48 hours and I can look into it for you. You can send me a message here: https://www.thefrugalsouth.com/contact-us/

I only received $25. Anyone else get a lower amount as well? I wonder if demand was higher than expected. After a second look, I’m not seeing $50 on the survey landing page…
