New Africa Marketplace Coming Spring 2015 to DisneyÕs Animal Kingdom

Disney Concept Art for the New Africa Marketplace

I am super excited that Harambe Village’s Africa Marketplace should be opening soon in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park! This addition was announced last November, and we noticed construction behind the current Harambe village when we visited last October. The village of Harambe is my favorite area in Animal Kingdom park because of it’s incredible details and lively atmosphere.

The Africa Marketplace is scheduled to open in the spring of 2015, so unless there were major delays is should be opening sometime in the next month or so. According to the Disney press release, “one highlight of the new space will be Harambe Market, a new quick-service food and beverage location offering street-inspired dishes from walk-up windows.” There will be expanded seating and another walkway to get from Africa to the Asia section of the park. I can’t wait to check it out on our next visit!
