Instacart Disney World: Grocery Delivery In Orlando To Your Hotel

Here are my Instacart Disney World tips for getting groceries delivered right to your Disney resort!

Instacart Grocery Delivery Basics

Instacart is a website and app that allows you to order groceries (and other supplies) from local grocery stores.

You can shop the aisles of the store right from your phone. After you put your order together, an Instacart shopper goes to the store and purchases your items for you.

Then your shopper will deliver your order to you at whatever location you specify.

You can often get your items delivered in as little as one hour, or you can schedule your order to be delivered up to 6 days in advance.

Does Instacart Deliver to Disney World? 

Yes! Instacart offers grocery delivery in Orlando, including the hotels located in and around Disney World. They will also deliver to condos, rental homes, and timeshares.

We now always save money on our Disney trips by ordering some basic groceries instead of buying them at the hotel.

While there are other grocery delivery services available at Disney World, Instacart offers the most options and the best prices.

Putting Together Your Instacart Order

You can put together an Instacart order from the Instacart website or in the app on your mobile device.

The first thing you will need to know is the zip code in Disney World – it is 32830.

If you are staying at a hotel outside of Disney World, this may be different so have your hotel’s address handy.

You can place an order from Publix (a popular grocery store in Florida), Whole Foods, CVS, or BJ’s Wholesale. 

You can order from either ABC or Publix Liquors (wine and beer can be delivered from the grocery stores.)

Instacart Disney World Cost & Fees

I have placed many orders from Publix through Instacart while at Disney World. 

Some items we commonly order are:

• Fresh fruit
• Breakfast food to eat in our room (oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, protein bars, etc.)
• Snacks to take into the parks
• Juice boxes
• Cream for our coffee
• Beer and wine
• Sunscreen

I’ve even ordered other random items such as medicine when my daughter caught a cold, bubble solution for her bubble wand, and swim floats to use at the pool.

In my experience, groceries are VERY reasonably priced when using Instacart to order from Publix.

There are delivery fees involved with ordering that vary depending on the amount of your order and how soon you would like your order delivered.

I think these fees are a small price to pay for the convenience of grocery delivery in Orlando.

Instacart Disney World Delivery Process

When you are putting together your Instacart order, you will select a window of time during which your groceries will be delivered.

After you select your delivery window, you can change it up until your shopper starts putting your order together.

We have been delayed before and I have changed the delivery time without any issue.

If you are staying at a Disney World on-property resort, you’ll need to be present to pick up your groceries only if your order contains refrigerated items or alcohol. 

If it just contains non-perishable items, your delivery person can leave your items with bell services for you to pick up later. 

If you are staying at a hotel not owned by Disney, my experience has been that you have to be present to pick up any order.

If you have any alcohol in your order, you WILL have to be present with your ID to pick up your order in person.

You will receive notifications throughout the process of your Instacart order. You will be notified when your shopper begins shopping and if any of the items you have ordered are out of stock.

Your shopper will sometimes find a replacement and you can choose to accept it or have them not replace the item – but this happens in real time so you have to be ready to act quickly.

If you are meeting your Instacart shopper to pick up your order, you will get a text from them asking where they can meet you.

I always opt to meet at a specific location inside the lobby or right outside.

Where To Pick Up Your Instacart Order

If you aren’t present for your delivery, you can pick up your order later at your resort’s Bell Desk.

Note this is NOT the same as the check-in or front desk of your resort! If you don’t know where the Bell Desk is at your Disney resort, just ask any cast member (the term for a Disney employee).

If you can’t get down to the Bell Desk, you can call the desk from your room and ask them to deliver your grocery order to your room.

On one occasion I had a bad experience with my order at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. I had to call several times until they were able to locate my order, so if this happens to you, just be persistent!

Just be sure to tip your bell services cast member if you have your order brought to your room. I try to have $5 handy for a tip anytime bell services come to my room.

Does Disney Charge For Grocery Delivery?

Disney World recently started charging guests a minimal fee to have bell services bring a grocery delivery to your hotel room. I believe this will show us as a room charge on your folio at checkout. 

If you have groceries delivered and pick them up from bell services yourself, you will NOT be charged the delivery fee.

The fee only applies if bell services delivers your order to your room. The charge is per grocery order, not per bag of groceries. 

So if you want to save money, either meet your Instacart delivery person in the lobby or pick your order up yourself at bell services. 

How To Get Free Instacart Delivery

Instacart is often running promotions for free delivery on your order if you meet a spending requirement.

They are worth checking out – I have received free delivery several times just by buying from certain brands. They should appear at the top of the app or site.
