Can you please tell me which room and how you got at Port Orleans French Quarter? We are staying there in February and I am unsure of what to ask for. Thanks, Felicia
I suggest requesting a room “as close to the main building as possible” if you want to be close to dining, pool, and buses. I did and we were placed in building 4 which is to the directly to the left of the main building. Since February is one of the least crowded times of year (unless you are going over President’s Day weekend!) you should get your request met. If you want a river view or pool view you will have to book a room in those categories. Hope that helps!
I am interested in trying out Renting Disney Vacation Club Points for our next trip. Planning a 7 Day Cruise on the Disney Fantasy in October of 2018. Will be staying one or two nights before the cruise and one night after the cruise. I want to stay on property. If we rent points for our stay do we receive Magic bands? Will we be able to use our My Disney Experience App and get fast passes 60 days in advance? Will Disney still pick you up at the airport and bring you back?
Hi Amy! The short answers are yes, yes, and yes! You get all of the benefits you mentioned of staying on Disney property when you rent DVC points. After the owner makes the reservation, she/he will email you the resort confirmation from Disney. You then link the reservation to your My Disney Experience account with the confirmation number and you are good to go. You can make Magical Express reservations here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/airport-transportation-reservation/ or over the phone using your confirmation number. You do have to purchase your tickets in advance of the 60 day FastPass window in order to book your FastPasses. I recommend buying them through Undercover Tourist. Hope that helps!
Thank you for the information shared. Wanted to confirm one thing about the price paid to broker like David’s for booking Disney world stay. It shows per the calculator, the total cost of stay in 990 for the entire stat. So is this the total cost we pay including the resort stay and broker commission? How is the broker making money? In your information, I thought you mention about partial stay fees if 110 approx which is non refundable if the broker finds the points. So do we pay 110 plus the cost per their cost calculator? Please clarify. Also we are probably late in planning for Disney for feb 2017, what do you suggest how to shop for points considering the last minute. Thanks
Hi Shalini! I think you are referring to booking a stay at a DVC resort through a broker? IF so, the total cost includes the broker’s commission. They make money by “buying” folks’ points at a lower cost (I think around $10-$11 per points is the norm) and then finding someone to rent those points to at a higher cost per point (usually around $15 per point). DVC owners who have extra points but don’t want to hassle with renting them out still make money (since they only pay $5 – $8 per point in annual dues) and the broker does all of the work of finding a renter and completing the transaction. Hope that makes sense!
I know both David’s and the DVC Rental Store have last-minute points available for stays 60 days out. Thanks for stopping by!
Do you rent from the same person for the dvc rentals each time? or do you have anyone you can recommend to try renting from?
I have a few go-to DVC owners that I rent from, and I can check with them to see if they have more points they’d like to rent. Just drop me a message or email and I’ll try to connect you!
Can u clarify for me at the end of my trip im planning to go to a 2 table service if i dont have enough credits i can always pay the difference correct?
Hi Diane! It depends… if you only have one TS credit left you can not apply it towards a 2 TS credit meal. However if there are 2 or more people in your party and you have 2 TS credits left you can use the credits for one person’s meal and pay for the rest of the meals out of pocket. Hope that makes sense!
